Access Bank — Poor service by manager. Had money transferred into my account by a client for payment from their access bank account, and wanted to transfer it to another access account, filled the form and all, after a quite a considerable time I was told that couldn’t be done because I didn’t possess a Ghana card. during the filling of the internal transfer form under purpose of withdrawal I stated I wanted to use the money to acquire a piece of land, the manager or whoever was in charge called my client to ask whether he should release the cash to me, which my client responded by telling him if he didn’t want me to have it he wouldn’t have transferred it, he was told I had lied to them about what I was using the money for, for which he told them that was my decision. I have supplied him and he has paid me. ( my client called to tell me this ). Got my card done and came in the following day to withdraw my cash, got to the bank at about 14:06, I was asked to show a chat between me and whoever I was purchasing the land from, which I did, the teller came back after a while to ask for documentation on the land I wanted to purchase, and I sent him a copy, after while he came back to request for my sea waybill or bill of laden, which I told him showed him but told him he can’t have a copy as its a company document, I sat for a long time and each time I asked I was told my money was being worked on and that I will be payed soon. when I confronted a teller about about what was going I found out whoever was in charge wasn’t even in the building and that was requesting all that information by phone, what he wanted it for, I have no idea but he was bent on wasting my time, because at a point I wanted to close my account and withdraw my money but he couldn’t be reached by phone he was picking his calls, he was reached finally through someone else and requested again for a copy of my invoice. I didn’t have have that so a bank staff had to stand in for me that ill send the documents to her when I get home. this was after banking hours, I finally got paid at 18:17, four hours after I had entered the bank because someone wanted to play detective instead of focusing on their job and serving the customer. A friend I went with the previous day who banks with access sworn to close his account with them. with so many banks in the country vying for customers this is a sure way to loose them. I’m sending this complaint to be addressed because I know others are working to promote the bank and they are the people who suffer when companies go under, because the ones who cause it will find themselves working elsewhere. I want a formal letter explaining why that happened, my client asked me if I was having money problems because he was called not to verify a check but a transfer, and thats bad for business.
